| Bio, Summer 2003
Imagine a Vargas pin-up girl come to life and shot up with a cocktail of PCP and Rabies. That's Storm. Put her in front of an all-star line-up of rock musicians and force them to play nice, That's "THE BALLS".
For the past year, Storm and The Balls have become Portland's favorite "Loungecore" act. Nearly every Northwestern publication there is has praised them, and recently Oregon Public Broadcasting aired a special on Storm, "Portland's favorite Heavy Metal Torch Singer". Their fans have grown from an eclectic bunch of music lovers to a wild and fevered throng of devotees. The Balls have returned the love by releasing their much anticipated debut album, "Hanging With The Balls", and they want you to hear it.
The Balls are: Portland's own resident psychobassman Davey Nipples (Sweaty Nipples and Everclear), pianist James Beaton (Jeff Trott Band and Everclear) and drummer Brian Parnell (Motherlode) backing up the six foot ass-kicking blonde California crooner Storm (Storm Inc.), creating a sexy, scary and brilliant spectacle.
The Balls tickle and twist old familiar music into amazing rock hybrids you must hear to believe, and Storm puts on a show that you won't soon forget. In fact, you'll be forever changed...for the better. They are lounge turned up to 11. It's jazz, and it fully rocks. You can sip a girly cocktail in the back, snap along to the music and still feel totally violated. You'll limp a little after, but you'll be grinning ear to ringing ear all the way home.
